This home and the history it holds are quite unique. Beautiful historical pieces, lovely property and a great presentation by several generations of the original owners. It’s awesome just knowing they’ve kept it in the family all these years. For their privacy, they do not allow photos inside.

As a distant relative of the original owner & builder (Nathaniel Leonard), I visited the outside (no tour of the inside). I was disappointed that Ravenswood was not better preserved. The Missouri Historical Society should buy & restore it.

My husband and I toured Ravenswood in 1974. Charles and Mary Leonard showed us through what was then their private home .Charles was very serious, while Mary was VERY funny. It was a beautiful Fall day, the leaves were changing colors. We stood on the porch chatting with Charles and Mary...extremely interesting. It was such a wonderful experience, I wrote them a thank you, after we returned home. Much to our (very pleasant) surprise, we received a Christmas card from them. This started a correspondence with Mary, that lasted for a long time. She was such a wonderful person, and I have kept the cards. It is a beautiful memory, and I always intended to return, but never have.

Went here all the way back in the 80's.. and I still remember it. We were allowed to investigate the attic and we teens were even allowed out on the widows walk. Sad to hear they no longer give tours.. I seem to remember a haunted music box. It was really quite lovely.
