The trail has a slight grade upward toward the falls; a hike requires a moderate effort; there may be a few small fallen trees across but these are easy to step over. I am a 75 year-old (yo) retiree; along with my 14 yo grandson we were able to complete the hike and return in about 2-1/2 hours. We saw a couple of excellent, experienced femaile Mountain Bikers, as well as, a few other hikers. No small children were seen. The trail is peaceful, enjoyable and a beautiful experience. In my opinion, seeing the falls is very much worth the effort, but the hike is exertive. Note: it is a long dusty drive to the trail head. I'd recommend this hike to a friend.

A great day hike and place to picnic. This is a moderate hike that meanders up and down ridges until you get to the falls. We spent 4.5 hours hiking and hanging out. We saw two piles of bear scat on the trail, so practice bear safety. The falls are stunning and very popular. We met seven other groups of hikers on the trail. The drive to the trailhead is just as inspiring with all the wildflowers and mountains. There’s a well kept outhouse at the trailhead.

Beautiful falls, easy trail. Unfortunately the 2017 forest fire in the local area burned much of the surrounding forest.

The hike was 5.2 miles round trip. A perfect for young children. Not much elevation gain either. Once you are at the fall it has awesome view.

According to my Apple Watch it was a 2.7 mile hike (one way). The trail goes through a burn area and was hot during our hike today but it was in the 80’s. The trail had moderate traffic and it was fairly flat. There is a toilet at the trailhead and no cell service during the hike. The falls are beautiful and would definitely go again.
