tripadvisorThe only thing missing from this classic style used bookstore is giant piles of books in corners and backrooms that threaten to fall over at any moment. Instead, they are all categorized, priced, and shelved under the watchful eyes of the proprietors. We were greeted as soon as we walked in and any time we had a question, they were there to answer it. What a pleasant way to spend and hour or two, perusing the shelves looking for treasures.
MoreUsed book store with a knowledgeable seller. Tight quarters, cozy feel. Plenty for kids in the corner of the first floor. A Grandin Village institution.
MoreAlways nice to find a quality used bookstore these days! Brick and mortar used book dealers are becoming a rarity. On two floors, Too Many Books offers well lit stacks with many paperbacks as well as a large amount of hardback offerings for fair prices. Some categories are alphabetized by author. Linda is familiar with many of the tens of thousands of volumes she currently has on hand. She competently handles browser requests with courtesy and attentiveness, including those from children who also search for specific subjects, series and/or authors they are seeking, whether for school or personal reading. Located on Grandin Road—a few blocks from Memorial—Too Many Books is but a minute’s walk from Grandin Theater and just a couple blocks from several outstanding eateries. I have occasionally shopped there over two decades and always find one or more desired volumes on each successive visit. It’s a place to lose yourself for an engaging hour—or two.
MoreThey have a good selection of books...some of the audio books are a little pricey but had a lot to choose from..feel like they should have them categorized a little better but overall a very nice store
MoreBest used bookstore in the area showcases a broad range of books and feels cozy. Proprietor Linda knows us by name and shopping habits. Welcoming, casual--often with other friendly folks shopping and conversing. Excellent for browsing. Reasonable prices and particularly strong selection of older children's books, local/Virginia-oriented books. Also a good stop for some paper memorabilia of the area (ex. older Roanoker magazines). Recommend parking behind the Roanoke Natural Foods Co-Op and walking the area. Convenient to Cups coffee shop.
