tripadvisorOur family stayed in 2 themed rooms. They were nicely appointed, with a small frig but no microwave. Our 8 yr old grandson loved the theming, treasure chest and Legos. The room was clean - the shower was cleaner than MANY hotel rooms I've stayed in - and there was daily housekeeping service without having to ask for it. I haven't experienced that much since COVID and felt pampered. They offer a 24/7 text service in case you need anything - we used it a couple of times. One room was stuffy; staff cooled it down remotely. Another time we asked for wash cloths and received them immediately. The only reason for a 4 star is that check in was chaotic. You use a kiosk that requires a Confirmation Number. This is NOT the Booking Number on the email confirmation. So you can't check in using the kiosk. In additon, both room were under my name and the kiosk couldn't handle that. There's only 1 computer station manned by 1 person to handle these issues - and the line can get long at check in.Then you receive a text message when your room is ready and are told to go again to the kiosk - but the above problems still exist so you have to stand again in the long line to get personal help.Being a few steps away from the theme park is a BIG plus at the end of the day! At the end of our 4 night stay we felt refreshed.
MoreI loved the experience at this hotel. It felt truly special for my kids, and they had an amazing time throughout our stay. There are a couple of things the hotel could improve on, though. The pillow comfort is something that definitely needs attention — this is my second stay here and both my husband and I have found them quite uncomfortable. Also, I’m not sure why the room TVs don’t offer the LEGO Channel or any LEGO movies. For a LEGO-themed hotel, that feels a bit ironic!
MoreLocation is cute, Legos everywhere. Theme is fun. Really expensive for what you get. Activities inside and around hotel are fun. Room theme is cute. Buffet breakfast is decent. But the water pressure was so bad the water barely limped out. It was horrific. Coming out of a water park, you’ve got to shower. There was no water pressure. If you have hair on your head, you’ll be in there for 90min trying to get your hair rinsed out.
MoreThere were only two issues with our stay at the Castle Hotel, and they both involved the Dragon’s Den restaurant. Our other experiences with the Castle Hotel were great—the pool staff is fantastic, it’s clear as a former lifeguard that the lifeguards are well trained, housekeeping was great, and the character staff at meet and greets were great as well. We ordered room service on Sunday evening and it took 2.5 hours for our food to arrive to our room. That’s a long time for a hungry kid to wait after we had a long drive to the hotel. The second issue is that the breakfast buffet in Dragon’s Den is super loud and chaotic, and was so overstimulating that my autistic child had to take a quiet break in our room before we could go to the park. We tried it twice and figured out after the second attempt that it was painful for our son to be in the restaurant during breakfast. I texted the Concierge help text line, and asked if it would be possible for us to make a breakfast reservation & bring my son’s food back to our room for him to eat in a calmer environment. The customer service person said “you are more than welcome to do that, just let our staff know at Dragon’s Den in the morning, we are always more than happy to help”. When we got to Dragon’s Den the next morning, they said the Concierge was wrong and they only allow a few cold items (bread/muffins) to be taken out of the restaurant to eat. I’m not upset that the restaurant was inaccessible for my child, but I am frustrated that we made a plan for breakfast & early park entrance that relied on inaccurate information from the Concierge. Obviously I would also love for there to be a way to make breakfast accessible for all hotel guests, but I understand that it is a Health & Safety issue to allow hot food to be taken out of the restaurant to eat as the restaurant staff explained. Knowing that info ahead of time would be helpful, receiving incorrect information from Hotel Staff was frustrating.
MoreThis is our second time staying at this hotel. First time was great but the second was not so much. First we spent the day at Legoland and came to check in at 4:45 pm the room was not ready until 6:00pm! I spoke to the front desk and was given a 75 credit. Food at the restaurant was sub par.Ordered a grilled chicken sandwitch and the bread was cold. It’s 9:00 am and room service already walked in to bother us this early. Definitely won’t be staying here again
