tripadvisorWe found this to be a great location. Many places are within a 10-15 minute walk including the Boise greenbelt, the Boise Art Museum, and the downtown Basque area. Also, the Chick-filet across the parking lot was a plus for a quick breakfast. The hotel is clean and the staff are friendly. My only complaint about service was that the Bistro was staffed by one person who does everything (runs the POS, makes the coffee, and cooks the food in the back. Although we had to wait a while for our ordered breakfast, the breakfast was surprisingly good. I just felt sorry for the young man staffing the Bistro because he was so slammed, but he had a good attitude and got the job done. I think the Courtyard should add one more person at the Bistro for an hour or two in the morning (maybe have someone from housekeeping pitch in).In summary, great location and nice, clean hotel. Will most likely stay there again.
MoreThis is what transpired on a recent check in at the Courtyard Marriott. On the front desk was a young lady named Razel. I went through the usual steps of handing her my driver's license and Marriott CC. and let her know that I was checking in. She acknowledged my Gold membership, as she entered information on her computer. She then asked if I was parking a vehicle. I told her that I was. She then handed me a piece of paper that she instructed me to place on the dashboard of my car. While I waited for her to finish entering info on her computer I noticed that she wrote down on the paper that I was there only for one day. i interrupted her and told her that I was staying there for two nights. I told her that I had one night as my anniversary night, and one night in points. She went back to her computer and then told me that the second night was going to cost me (I believe she said $265) Again, I told her that it was a points night. She looked at me and stated: I asked you! I could not believe what she said because I knew 100% that she had NOT asked anything of me. I told her, no, you did not She then said Yes I did!. I again said no, you did not!' She replied by saying SURE! in a condescending, sarcastic way. I started to tell her that she was not going to talk to me in such a manner where she was basically calling me a liar, and that her response was very insulting and unprofessional, she again said to me SURE! I thought that it was unbelievable that she would say the same thing twice. I immediately asked to speak to a supervisor.I subsequently spoke to Ranea Orozco, Operations Manager. I related to her what had transpired.Perhaps, Razel is used to talking to her peers in such a manner, but that is not how personnel that work in the hospitality business should behave. I stay in hotels around 100 days per year. Never have I been asked upon check in: how many nights are you staying here? It is always something like We have you staying in our hotel from ...to...It was very unfortunate that they have an employee that is not properly trained in hospitality. It very much soured our stay at the Courtyard.Ms. Orozco was very attentive and polite during our chat, she subsequently called me while in the room and told me that she made sure that every thing was correct on both of my separate reservations and that I needed to return the next day to re-key the room key. However, what she said next was totally incorrect. She said that she had fixed it so that I would not have to change rooms and carry my luggage from room to room. There was NO way that I would be made to change rooms because of their inefficient system. I could understand it if I had made two reservations (or more) for consecutive nights that were booked for different hotel categories such as room types. My reservations were made for a standard two queen bed.
MoreThings were a little crazy with banana ball in town, but Heather and crew were super-professional and friendly. Hotel is in a good location, very clean and quiet.
MoreIts okay. Parking shared with a Chick fil a so a liitle crowed at time in front of hotel. Ground, lobby, hallways kept clean. Check in was easy. Room was clean, you can tell its old but updated. Out TV didnt work but they sent someone up within 5 mins. He worked on it for about 10 mins but got it working, Bed was soft so we got a good night sleep before heading to airport at 5am. Decent place to stay for the right price.
MoreThe hotel is convenient for downtown appointments, but business travelers should be aware that this is not a property I can recommend. I’m an extensive traveler and a Marriott Lifetime Titanium member, and my recent stay raised several concerns.I arrived late at night and had both called ahead and noted in my reservation that I needed a first floor room. Despite that, it took three different employees to attempt to accommodate the request during check in.When checking out, I never received an emailed receipt. I called the hotel—still nothing. I had to call again before it was finally sent. The receipt itself was surprising, listing every minor detail, including items like tuna spread [companies don’t require or need granularity] and several outdated food products still in the pantry. It did not reflect the level of professionalism I expect from a Marriott property. Also, had breakfast in the morning…UGH! Eggs were gross, way overcooked and the restaurant was not very well run.Given these experiences, I’ll be choosing a different Marriott hotel for future trips to the area.
