Folks, I'm all for patriotism, but you gotta admit this flag's a little ostentatious and overdone, even by the standards of zealous Idaho super-patriots. This former, so-called governor's mansion was suddenly and unceremoniously taken down after having been dumped on Idaho taxpayers for several years, costing bundles of money to maintain an unoccupied house! What a waste of both house and taxpayer largesse! Now, it's time for the flagpole to come down, too, so the Boise foothills can be restored to their former grandeur and the neighborhood can get a good night's sleep again, without the noise of an oversized and inappropriate flag whipping in the wind.

Drove by a couple days ago and the hill looks so much different without the mansion up there! The flag pole will remain and hill maintained for ice blocking and sledding fun in their respective seasons.
