tripadvisorAttended a fund raiser comedy event. We were fortunate enough be be able to sit in the balcony area. So nice up there as well as the main floor. A beautiful historic theatre a must stop for a relaxing enjoyable show.
MoreThe Valerie theatre.. Libery park.. town square and The 46 mi rail trail.. We love Inverness and drive 1-1/2 hr at least twice a month to get out of Clearwater and enjoy a slower pace.
MoreRecently moved to Inverness and saw my first show Wizard of Oz on their big screen. It was FABULOUS - both the movie and the theatre, The theatre is actually owned by the City of Inverness, and is kept very clean. Bathrooms are very modern and clean. . Tickets are $5 with Monday matinees at $1. Box of popcorn $2, as is the soft drinks. The greeters Kevin and Pat are awesome and make you feel very welcomed. I love Kevin's intro at the start of each movie and also love that he thanks everyone after the show for coming. Mostly classic movies such as Bonnie & Clyde which I also saw recently. Wanted to see The Birds, but couldn't. For less than $10, you get the movie, popcorn and a soda. Now where else are you going to find a bargain like that? Support our local theatre...we want them around for a long time! =)
MoreIt was this past Saturday Morning, I saw advertised on the Valerie Theater's website, Free tickets to the Elf movie, Pick up at theatre. I then saw a link to buy tickets, which I proceeded to do. once I confirmed the order (or so I thought) I got a confirmation E-mail, which I have attached to this review, complete with an order number and all. Fast-forward to today, a woman called from Valerie Theater to inform me that my ticket order will not be honored by the theatre due to a third party creating invalid tickets. I was told well it said on our website Pick up at theatre which I thought meant you could place your order online and pick up the physical tickets on site at a later date. At this time the woman from Valerie Theater started to get an attitude with me and said ma'am, there nothing we can do it's not our fault, all tickets had been picked up, there are no more available, you wont be able to see the movie Elf this Friday. This is when I asked to speak to a manager, I was told she was not in the office and would have to get back to me, so I got her contact information. After getting the name and number from the box office employee whom was rude and quick to get off the phone, I called the theater right back, Ilene Walsh, the manager whom wasn't in the office just a moment before, answered the phone. I explained the situation and was immediately told it's not our fault, it's a third party who did not have permission to offer the free ticket deal. Ilene proceeded to tell me I don't know what to tell you it said right on the Website pick up tickets at theater. It is becoming increasingly clear that the mind set of people now-a-days is not how can we help, it's more how can I pass the buck. Valerie Theater could have honored the tickets, scheduled a different date for all those who were misinformed by the theatres website and purchased online tickets, instead they say it's not our fault, and take on an almost too bad so sad mentality.
MoreIf you are looking for something different for you evening-out with your wife, bestfriend, or special person. Have diner at one of the small cafes or restaurants then walk to the theatre. Great tasting popcorn for only $2 (and $1 refill). Something different shoving every week with loved classics and special foreign movies. Movies are only $6. We love this place!
