There were cockroaches in my daughter's room. When notified, they sprayed and then sprayed again.

We didn’t spend a ton of time in our suite, but the room was as clean as “possible”. As suspected, the hardwood portion of the floors were sticky so I had to give them a quick clean. The carpets are stained with who knows what. Also, try to get a top floor room (4th) because you can clearly hear and feel the people upstairs stomping around at all hrs of the day and night. Another thing is the size of the bath towels - my bf is 6’3 and it looked like a hand cloth -it was actually funny. Our room had a leak in the shower from the ceiling. We were actually afraid that someone would be coming through the ceiling. Good thing we only slept there and parking is free. The breakfast was the usual fake scrambled eggs buffet - we did not partake.

I wil use this hotel anytime I come back to the Boston area. We rented 3 rooms for our family and they made sure we were close together. Home away from home experience. The King suite was perfect for us. And a full kitchen was so nice. We were trying to save money, so the free breakfast and having a full kitchen for nighttime meals worked perfectly for us. And that breakfast was the best hotel breakfast I’ve had. So many choices and new menu items each day. Then they do a free beer/wine/hot spiced tea/ bread and cheeseboard in the early evenings 3 or 4 times a week during the weekdays. How nice is that? Fantastic customer service all the way around. And the location was great to get us to our destinations (Salem, Plymouth, Cape Cod, Maine) avoiding all that Boston traffic. The price was very reasonable too.

Booked to stay over one night to break up a long drive home from Maine. The gentleman at the front desk was kind and helpful. The hotel lacked in so many ways. The lobby TV kept cutting in and out. The pantry store looked like it was rummaged prior to a hurricane. Our room wasn’t ready when we went to check in at 6 - well after the 4 pm check in time. When the room was ready, it was dirty - the tub had the drain taken apart and it was full of hair. The hallways were creepy. The aesthetic is mental hospital chic. We went back down to the front desk. No other rooms available. They had to call housekeeping to re-clean room and it would be awhile - after a half an hour, we decided to cancel and head elsewhere. Highly recommend to skip this hotel.

Although the staff were all very nice, my stay at The Element did not meet my expectations. The room had a number of things broken: torn blackout curtains, toilet that wasn't flushing well and needed replacement according to the maintenance man, and a non-functional SmartWater tap (maintenance suspected a clogged filter but did not have appropriate filters on hand). There were other small issues like missing handles on cabinets that made the room not what I would expect of this brand. In addition, I was not provided shampoo (the entire holder(!!) was missing from the shower wall, though they did give me conditioner and body wash) or anything for washing dishes (no soap, dish washing liquid, dishwasher detergent, scrubber or towels). They can do better. Aloft next door isn't wonderful either. Their mattresses slide off the platforms!
