Founded in 1984, Hope Hospice is a nonprofit organization that serves the palliative and hospice care needs of patients in Northern Bexar, Caldwell Comal, Guadalupe, Hays and Kendall counties. It is accredited by the Community Health Accreditation Program and is a member of the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization and the Texas Partnership for End of Life Care. Its services include pain management, symptom control, bedside care, personal care and bathing, and food and nutrition advice. It also offers services, such as emotional and spiritual support, caregiver respite, advocacy, companionship and grief counseling. The organization s staff consists of primary care physicians, medical directors, nurses, certified nurse assistants, social workers, a chaplain, a bereavement counselor and volunteers.
