Reviews
tripadvisorReturned to SLAC for the first time since 2019, just pre-Covid, after having attended their annual summer satire Saturday's Voyeur for over a dozen consecutive years, along with a few various other performances. I've always enjoyed their musical satires, and looked intensely forward to renewing the experience. While I can't say I didn't enjoy it (a great effort by a talented group of actors), it was plainly obvious that the production values were not up to prior years even though the ticket prices had noticeably increased and I had to struggle to barely provide an average rating. I certainly understand they now have less than a third the season ticket holders they did before Covid, and also must strike some balance between ticket costs and production outlays. In short, they're between something of a rock and a hard place so I don't at all enjoy writing a very measured review but I just did not enjoy it to the past extent. I personally would rather pay even more and enjoy a more lavish production, but since it was a Saturday night and half the seats were empty I doubt enough others would agree. I don't know what the answer is but I hope they find it. I live in Montana and have always been glad to drive down for SLAC, but don't know about the future unless something changes. The quality of the screenplay was sadly also not quite up to Voyeur efforts either, but that can always vary. I really do want to continue to support SLAC as before and I love the theater so please do not take these words with any intent beyond honesty.
MoreGreat small venue and they allow you to bring in your own food and drink, which is nice. They need new content and can't seem to get past Trump bashing. Old news. Move on. Look around and find new material. Be more creative. It's not that funny anymore.
MoreThis was my first time experiencing Saturday's Voyeur and I absolutely loved it! The actors were fantastic brimming with expression.
MoreYou'll need a stomach for anti LDS and conservative value bashing if you sit thru this production...
MoreSaw Saturday's Voyeur because everyone has raved about it. First time at SLAC. Not impressed. Got a few laughs but overall, lackluster performance. The facility is an old church which was laid out really awkward. One time visit. Sticking with Pioneer Theatre or The Grand Theatre.
