tripadvisorWe did 2 trails in MayTable Rock Trail - easy, couple of ups/downs, unique rock sceneryCliff Trail - longer, well marked, not too scenic and in hindsight, wouldn't have hiked the trail. There are other trails that can be walked.
MoreSyracuse’s “other” state park. A great place to get out in nature. If you like rocks, mosses, ferns and flower diversity this is a great place to photograph or learn about botany. Don’t be deceived by the small size on the map. It feels like a bigger park. Be warned that some of the trails close to the lake are not “easy strolls” but involve not only stair climbing, but can be very rocky and not suitable for young children, small dogs or people with less than optimum mobility. (There is an “easy” way to lake overview but it requires a roundabout route - see trail map.) Given the sensitive nature of mosses and plants it is surprising that more warning signs are not there to remind people to stay on trails. The lake is nice but a bit dull for scenery though very interesting for fossils and plants. The shoreline is totally undeveloped so don’t expect a well groomed lakeshore as there is at Green Lakes. Don’t miss the Table Rock trail for its huge limestone blocks with deep cracks. Watch out for (mostly harmless) snakes!
MoreWe took our three grandchildren for a hike here. The scenery is amazing. There's also a cute little playground and numerous picnic areas. My only advice though is to take a picture of the map with the different hiking trails marked. The trails are confusing and it's easy to get On the wrong one.
We were just trying to find someplace near Syracuse that is worth visiting. Happy to find this small county park with a beautiful water fall. The pleasant park is well managed with no admission fee (a two dollar donation is recommended). We enjoy the trails very much.
MoreA beautiful park in all seasons. Good cardiovascular work out. Lots of trails to visit. Well marked.
