The townfolk sure know how to make people feel right at home. We were warmly greeted by two people at the ticket table. When they learned that we weren't from those parts, they jumped up and gave us the nickel tour of the old school. Dinner was simple and we were glad to help as the money goes towards restoring the school. Two bands played good ole' country music. Good foot stompin', hand clappin' music! We could even understand the lyrics! How refreshing!

The Sopchoppy Opry is a mini version of the Grand Ole Opry. Local talent and guests perform the last Saturday of every month. Wonderful musicians, enjoyable environment, good food (very inexpensive) and overall good time. All of this for $10 a ticket plus any food you purchase. The money raised goes to the restoration of a beautiful old school. Nice auditorium and seating. If you love country/hymns/oldies/bluegrass you won't be disappointed. Nice variety each time we have attended. Free parking.
