The Summer Musical, Carousel, reflects the wonderful casting and talent that can be found in Abilene. Combining the resources of three universities, alumni, and local talent brought together a McMury University production that would compare very favorably with professional productions. In short, Carousel was an outstanding musical production on all levels.

Saw the drama The Death & Life of Larry Benson during Homecoming Weekend at the Ryan Little Theatre (on the campus of McMurry University). The intimate venue is terrific, the set and lighting was professional in quality, and the direction and acting were out outstanding. McMurry has a great little theatre that puts on big time performances, and is a good reason to visit Abilene and McMurry University. Can't wait for there next production. It is well worth the three hour drive.

We went to see a student written, student directed and produced play. It was amazing. They do a great job and it is an excellent place for a smaller venue.

Ryan Little Theater is located on the campus of McMurry University. It is part of the Amy Graves Ryan Arts Center. While small with seating less that 200 there is no center isle but all seats are very close to the stage. I saw the student production of Spamalot. The lead actors had really nice voices but a lot of improvement was needed concerning lighting, sound, and stage direction. The theater was not crowded but was stuffy and hot. Ticket prices were reasonable.
