So fun and shades! Great time was had by the doggos and myself. Lots of off leash dogs - some elevation changes, but totally doable. I also loved how many water spots there are for the dogs to cool off in.

TURKEY CREEK is one of my favotite hikes in Austin. Dogs are allowed to run free on this hike. It is a flat hike with very little elevation. There is usually water in the park so be prepared to get your shoes dirty. The trail is family friendly! Enjoy! Happy Trails!

Beautiful Trail! Definitely worth a visit if your in Austin. On Monday, 10/19 one of our beloved staff therapy dogs from Dell Seton Medical Center in Austin, TX was hiking the trail with his owner when he went missing. If you visit this trail, please keep an eye out for him. He is a tan toy poodle with a blue collar and is chipped. Thank you!

My son is getting into hiking recently and I thought we would try Turkey Creek. I almost did not go since we got off to a later start around 10:30 AM. But the trail is shaded by trees for at least 90% of the time so the heat just didn't really come into play. Due to the lack of the rain, all the low water crossings were very easy to traverse. Very nice trail and I will go back several times to see the changes due to the weather!

Lots of dogs off leash, on this easy, largely flat trail (with one fairly short climb and descent). Water shoes a plus, but not required if you are agile and not afraid to get your shoes wet if you take a misstep. Water largely gone as summer progresses.
