The Madison Civic Center on State street has long been a hub for cultural events here in Madison. Some of the best plays and live performances I've seen in my travels have been right here at home at this Civic Center. Thankfully the city goes to great lengths to keep it very modern and up to date with frequent enhancements.

The place is loaded with diversity from exhibs to music, art and other cultural events. Oh right, there is theater. There is a bench somewhere with the names of the parents of one my best friends since Jr. high.

Clean, comfortable but very expressive which prices out many. Venues with reasonable prices within 50 miles.

Was here last Christmas to see Manheim Steamroller and a few years previously to see Tony Bennett. At one time during his concert, Tony set his microphone down and sang 2 songs without it, saying that the sound in here is so good, you really don't need this...he was right

Saw Phantom of the Opera recently, great production, I must say I still prefer the previous establishment over the more modern theme but the shows are still good.
