We went for free first Thursday and stayed for around 2 hours. Very relaxed experience, not crowded and the staff were extremely pleasant. Cafe serves delicious lattes but you cannot carry them through the museum. Best for a chill afternoon with a curious but relaxed group. The art collection was diverse and interesting, included some beautiful paintings and mixed media arts from local artists, along with an entire section with photographs from 9/11 aftermath. Not a fan of half the second floor being dominated by some vanity project/ecological hazard with seemingly no purpose (Christo & Jeanne-Claude’s “Surrounded Islands”). Interesting to learn about and definitely brought forward some interesting conversations nonetheless.

Went to see the Christo exhibition and was pleasantly surprised by the quality exhibits at this mid-size but excellent museum. Christo bequeathed his gimmicky Islands installation to NSU, it's worth seeing if not for the vanity and megalomania of the king of modern installation art. The museum has an outstanding Rauschenberg exhibition (superbly described by attached notes) interesting showings of Asger Jorn and the Glackens family of yankee artists which in my humble opinion more than match their (more known) European contemporaries, and arguably one f the top Warhol combinations (from the Mao series). The ground floor had an exhibition of African and AA art, which like the other exhibits, was mercifully devoid of woke insanity and virtue signaling that have been poisoning museums across the country and have done more to murder appreciation of art that legions of flesh-eating zombies. And it's free. A strong recommend.

Great museum. They dedicate a lot of space for each exhibit. Artists weren't known to me but it was great learning about them.

Shockingly poor gallery half was closed for a new show setting up but was not told on paying for access to the gallery. Bit of a joke when even the open upper level was not fully being utilised.Staff clearly couldn’t have cared less when approached, only to be told the next display would be wonderful when completed if we came back another dayor view online…. Some excuse. Sorry but wouldn’t come back even for if it was free with such awful attitude. Any professional set up could easily set up a new display either out of opening house or days closed (ie every monday) only place i have ever suggest be avoided at all costs. Definitely biggest rip off ive ever experienced when traveling.
