The food was tasty. I ate quite a bit of fish. I threw up. Turns out I'm allergic to shellfish.

MoreLOVE this hotel! This is everything a thoughtful hotel should include, imo. It's obviously not the Four Seasons, but if you're looking for a mid-range hotel for a getaway or for families, this. is. the. place. Everything is thoughtfully done and obvious they didn't cheap out on the important stuff. Our bed had comfortable, cotton sheets and down pillows and the most comfortable mattress! Our room was spotless upon arrival. The hot breakfast was impressive - there were waffle makers, eggs, sausage, potatoes, and juice, in addition to the traditional continental breakfast offerings. Really felt worth the amenity fee imo. We brought our pup and were impressed by the dog park and felt the dog fee was reasonable. They have DirectTV with lots of channels and Netflix. Really appreciated the free, plentiful parking too. Easy walking distance to the beach! I was a little concerned about the train and road noise, but the windows isolated everything really well, and we couldn't hear anything the rooms above or next to us. Overall, 10/10 from me.
MoreThis place is cool. Like really cool. Just far away enough from the madness of the village but close enough to everything. Yes, it backs to the 5 fwy. But you literally cannot hear it from inside the room. Comfortable beds, extremely clean, and spacious. Thanks to David at the front for helping us find the perfect dog friendly room for us.
MoreIt had been a while since we had stayed at The West, and we were glad to see that little had changed!The grounds and buildings are very well maintained, are suite was large , clean and well maintained.Staff was excellent and very helpful. The breakfast was varied all three days we were there and it was all good.And let’s not forget the nightly milk and warm chocolate chip cookies.This place is so perfect for the rate it is impossible not to enjoy it!
