Fun for the serendiptous hunt! Second-hand books are wild books, homeless books; they have come together in vast flocks of variegated feather…

The Op.Cit book store has a huge collection of used books! Everything you might want! The staff are book lovers and can find anything. The only down side is the address on google doesn't tell it all-the book store is in a mall in Santa Fe ask for directions to the Market and then find the book store in the mall. Op.Cit also has a location in Taos, new books, a lovely light filled space with places to sit and a well informed staff too. Support independent book stores when you travel!

This shop is a wonderland filled with great books and some attempt at organization. To our credit, we did find $18 worth of good reads (Philip Roth was a favorite find) but could only imagine what treasures lie in the heaps of books in the center of the store.I imagine it is no small feat trying to sort through their growing inventory and make space for it in their existing categorized shelving. It isn't easy navigating around the heaps of books. Perhaps sectioning off a part of the store in the back and moving the excess there would improve their ability to sort through books and for shoppers to actually shop. We liked the bookstore and it is a great addition to have in De Vargas Center, especially since Hastings closed its doors some time ago.

Op.Cit. has an incredible collection of used books. Every book I examined was in excellent condition. Plan to stay for awhile and browse -- you will almost certainly find a book you want!!! I wish Op.Cit. was in my hometown.

Right up front is the best local interest section in town. Plenty of books from local hiking to field guides and great photography. Also great casual feel to this book seller.
