The Portavant Mound Site, or the Snead Island Temple Mound, is a historic site located near Palmetto, Florida. This archaeological site near the Manatee river, consists of a large temple mound, some 1200 years old that was created by the Safety Harbor culture from 900 to 1725 CE. The site was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1994.
