This annual Sacramento Ballet event is a MUST if you enjoy performing arts. Each piece is choreographed by a dancer and performed in an intimate setting at the studio. I have been going for several years and will definitely continue to do so. This year we stayed for a Q and A session with the choreographers which was a nice way to end the evening. Unfortunately, this year the friends I took and I were disturbed at the emaciated look of one of the dancers and I hope that is being addressed.

We attended a “Ballet Social” featuring the Sacramento Ballet dancers at the Capital Athletic Club. Friends got the tickets in advance, as they sell out quickly. The ballet was catered by Vallejos Mexican Food in a buffet style. The food and drinks were very good. The servers were fast and efficient. The ballet was tremendously entertaining. It was humorous in parts. Costumes were well done, and the dancers did a wonderful performance. Everyone seemed to have a great time.

For a medium size city, Sacramento has a surprisingly wonderful arts scene. The Sacramento Ballet is no exception to this conclusion. It is a professional company with outstanding dancers, progressive, creative and courageous programming. If you are in town when they are performing, don't miss it!

Local gem in the culture- entertainment venue. Daughter danced there for 10 years and was in multiple Nutcracker performances...Best-known and most beloved of all Sacramento Ballet productions, Ron Cunningham’s The Nutcracker has been seen by hundreds of thousands of people. The images of young Clara battling the Giant Mouse King, being saved by her Nutcracker Prince, and then journeying to the magical Snowflake Forest and Kingdom of the Sweets have become a part of our culture. Joining the professional company in this annual production are more than 500 youngsters from throughout the region who take their first “leap” into the world of performing arts with the Sacramento Ballet, making it a true holiday spectacular. In 2007, the Company presented their first international tour to the People’s Republic of China performing in Shanghai and Beijing. Through extensive Education and Outreach programs, the Ballet reaches approximately 40,000 participants each season. Not to be missed is the Beer & Ballet series.
