tripadvisorThe good: the manager I always seen walking around. He's friendly and personable. The indoor playground area is clean and usually there aren't too many kids there. The bad: they are now close on Tuesdays and Thursdays all day :( the bounce house is no longer in the amusement park :( and The ugly: the equipment is obviously older and the safety of the rides is questionable as they are always broken and in repair.
MoreI bought on groupon at discounted price to go check out the place. I took my 3 boys to the Mesa location. When we walked in the first impression was to run as it didnt smell very good, but the joys wanted to give it 10 minutes since we had driven all the way there & they had been anticipating having some fun. You pay at the snack bar & they could use a sign directing you there; but the blond girl at the counter was super nice & helpful. Well the 10 minutes turned into 3 hours & they would have stated longer if they could. Yes, sometimes they had to wait a few minutes for a ride as it is running on a pared down staff; about 10, but as soon as there was a line for an unstaffed ride; they would all move to that ride. The rides are older & the bumper cars were limited, but they were fun. There were about 50 customers when we went. I didnt eat the food, but the kids 6,10,12 didn't complain. The staff was AWESOME! They were friendly, courteous, & interacted well with the kids. Overall, the kids want to go again so we will go again at the discount price. It would be nice if they had more business so they could have it properly cleaned to get rid of the smell of kids drinks & other liquids :o spilled into the carpet.
MoreI was excited to take my children here and let them enjoy the rides and games. What a disappointment! Only half the rides and games worked and the whole place was very dirty and in desperate need of some renovations.
MoreWe visited Jambo April, 2013 while on a family holiday and we were really disappointed. It was run down and old, but the biggest annoyance was that it wasn't adequately staffed. 7 of the 8 rides were operational but they only had 2 operators of rides while we were there (for 2 hours starting when they opened). This meant either standing in line waiting to catch someone's attention for them to operate the ride or sending my disappointed 5 year old repeatedly on whichever ride was actually being attended. We also tried the arcade games and had several machines eat tokens, one had a sign to not put tokens in because it was out of tickets and the choices to 'spend' the tickets were a joke. Don't spend the money, I'd suggest Golfland Sunsplash instead!
MoreKids love this place. Yes, the rides are older. They have bumper cards, merry-go-round, monkey barrels, airplane ride, and others. There rides are more like those in a carnival, but indoor. It gets hot in the Phoenix area, and Jambo offers a reprieve from the heat. It is best for ages 3-8 years old. There is a climbing area for the kids. Pizza, quesadilla, burgers, and fries are offered. They have token games. The park rangers are very nice and attentive. You can call ahead to see if any of the rides are under repair. It is perfect for birthday parties for younger kids.
