You made me choose a date so I chose the earliest one even though my last visit to Missoula was in July of 1999. I got married in this courthouse on 11/12/1985 by a Justice of the Peace in his office. My then husband was on his lunch hour and had to go immediately back to work after we got married. When asked why he married me he told everyone it was because it was a slow Tuesday. That kind of summed up how our marriage went for 21 years. It's a beautiful courthouse and I loved getting married there. There were a LOT more trees around the building back then which kind of made it mysterious. At the time, I thought it was the best day of my life. I loved the town of Missoula. It was my now ex-husband's home state. I wish we could've made a go of it there. We tried for 6 months before we moved back to Oklahoma where I'm from and where we met. We loved visiting his family there from time to time. Missoula is a beautiful town. I miss it sometimes, but not my ex. LOL

A local art gallery employee raved about the Paxon paintings within the courthouse, so we stopped there to check them out. We were not disappointed. What an amazingly beautiful courthouse! The Paxon paintings were gorgeous and numerous! And the history of the courthouse, shared by very friendly courthouse employees including the security staff, was icing on the proverbial cake. Highly recommend checking it out.

Very nice. Did not judge me whatsoever. There was no entry fee, although it was very expensive to leave. Will return soon!

The Missoula County Justice Court is huge. They have a shelter in case it rains. They have a clock at the top of the Missoula County Justice Court. There is a statue of WW1 before the Justice Court. The US flag was there as well. Very attractive!
