There are so few resources in this area that offer a safe, comfortable, and genuinely friendly environment for kids during the summer and the d’Art Center is one of them! My kids have attended both the spring and summer art camps, and each time they’ve come home brimming with excitement, new skills, and a sense of pride in their work. The instructors are warm, patient, and clearly passionate about what they do. The programs are well-organized, and the variety of art activities keeps the kids engaged and inspired. I especially appreciate the balance between creativity and structure — the staff know how to encourage self-expression while maintaining a safe and respectful space. It’s rare to find a place that makes kids feel so welcomed and cared for while helping them grow artistically. We’re grateful to have the d’Art Center in our community, and we’ll definitely be back for future camps!

The address listed on Tripadvisor is incorrect, as they have recently moved into a new location at 740 Boush Street, Norfolk, around the corner from their old location. The new space is MAGNIFICENT! It is in an old bank building that has been rehabbed to luxury apartments on the top floors and the D'Art center on the bottom. D'Art features monthly rotating national exhibits, solo shows in the old bank vault (cool!) and a host of resident artists in specialized studio spaces in back. Right now they are refurbishing one of the Norfolk mermaids, but you can find any type of art that suits your fancy, from whimsical to serious. They also offer classes in multiple media. Well worth a trip!

This is a free attraction for art lovers. I even bought an adorable wooden pig (I collect pigs). I also bought several other small art pieces for christmas gifts. Not only can you look at art pieces and purchase them, you can meet the local artists in their studios in the back and talk with them. Everyone we met was very nice and really seemed to love explaining their art style. They also offer classes if you are interested. Be sure to check their website for special events.

The D'Art center is a wonderful collection of local artists who not only display their works but have studios in the center and are plying their art every day. The variety of mediums and styles keeps us coming back to see what new is being created. It is a difficult place to go and not fine a treasure worth displaying in your home. Over the years we have acquired a number of pieces that we have given as gifts and displayed proudly in our home.

The d'Art Center (located across the street from the Chrysler Museum Glass Studio) is a new location for these amazing artists. To be able to meet them, up close and personal is a very unique experience. It is so much more interactive then just strolling through a gallery. The artists were wonderful and will spend as much time as you like and need to make your visit totally enjoyable. Make a full day out the d'Art Center, and the Chrysler Museum and Glass Studio and you will leave with all of your artistic needs satisfied.
