tripadvisorBeautiful tribute to service men women and their dogs who enabled us to live our lives. It’s serene and such a lovely place to sit and reflect. There is a visitors book in a drawer at the entrance please fill it in. This is only a small memorial but it’s worth seeing.
MoreThis was a poignant memorial to the war dead of three US military operations in the Middle East region: Iraqi Freedom, New Dawn, and Enduring Freedom. It honored the more than 630 Texans who have died while on active duty in Iraq and Afghanistan. It had a granite centerpiece, four black granite monuments, and four benches. Five flags flew, one for each branch of the US military service. On its top, the center stone had a bronze statue of combat boots, gun, and helmet. There was lots of shade beside this very accessible memorial. In front of it was a compact dirt trail for a walk, jog, or run. Nearby were a water fountain, a dog water bowl, a bench, and a picnic table – but no restrooms. Parking for the memorial only was a short walk away off Cutten Road. I appreciated the quiet solemnity of the place. I disliked nothing.
MoreLove this in town trail.. beautiful mature trees, you hardly notice Cutten road next to you. Lots of parking.
MoreMy husband and I visited this beautiful Fallen Warriors Memorial while visiting Texas on Memorial Day Weekend. My husband is an Army combat veteran with a tour in Afghanistan and was completely moved when we visited this site. It's small but very beautiful and peaceful. The monuments are well taken care of and we paid our respects to our fallen heroes. I would definitely visit again. ❤
MoreTake the time to stop at this memorial! A wonderful tribute to those who have served our country and given their lives! We even found the name of a friend from the Dallas area to share with his parents!
