This jewel of a museum is located adjacent to the main plaza in Santa Fe, NM. This small but powerful collection is housed in a beautiful structure which has at it’s center a beautiful courtyard containing many murals.

New Mexico Museum of Art in my opinion was great. The building itself is a work of art. Inside the gallery had many interesting paintings and artworks. A must see when In Santa Fe

First rate museum right off the Plaza, with friendly staff, interesting exhibits, and a lovely setting. A respite from the busy Plaza area. Be sure to ask about the annual membership pass, which allows you to visit the Georgia O’Keefe, NM History Museum, and several affiliate museums around the country, with discounts in their superb gift shops. We came to see the Alfonse Mucha exhibit. It contains over 100 of the Art Nouveau’s master works. However, the main museum only has two of his works. When we asked, we discovered the entirety of the exhibit was located in a satellite museum 10 minutes away. There was only a small electronic sign indicating the exhibit was housed in the Vladem Museum. Once we walked there, in the Guadalupe District, we were overwhelmed with the explanatory signs and the breadth of his work. There were few people there, which must have been due in part to the lack of signs as to where the exhibit was. (The exhibit runs through Sept. 21.)Highly recommended to visit, both for its exhaustive and informative exhibit on Gustave Bauman, a Santa Fe icon, and the restful setting.

We stopped in the gift shop initially and then decided to visit the museum. The courtyard was lovely with some water features and plants. The museum itself is a few levels and can be visited in less than an hour. Make sure to look for the few Georgia O’Keeffe pieces and sculpture.
