The Emergency Communications Center, a part of Shawnee County,Kan.,is an Enhanced 911 system, which provides addresses and telephone numbers to the callers. It also handles emergency calls and educates children through the 911 system. The Emergency Communications Center provides emergency information during disasters and other critical situations. The communications center additionally maintains paging systems for emergency personnel. It handles more than 100,000 calls for all emergency response agencies annually.
