tripadvisorThe energy at the Longacre Theatre is nothing short of electric & seeing Two Strangers Carry a Cake Across New York was an absolute delight from start to finish. From the moment you walk through the doors, the venue set-up creates a warm, welcoming experience. The front-of-house staff & service teams were exceptional, efficient, incredibly friendly & seamless in getting everyone seated and taken care of, setting a wonderful tone for the rest of the evening. As for the production itself, it is pure witty, tongue & cheek magic:Christiani Pitts delivers a powerhouse performance. Her vocals are stunning, bringing rich depth, humor with a sprinkle of sassy 1 liners & emotional weight to every line & song. She completely commands the stage. Sam Tutty brings an effortlessly charming, magnetic presence that perfectly complements the show's spirit, keeping the audience completely captivated throughout. His vocal range was impressive. The musical itself is a vibrant, heartwarming love letter to unexpected connections and the chaotic charm of New York City. The dynamic performances, razor-sharp musicality, and infectious energy made it an unforgettable night at the theater.Honestly, I don't understand how these individuals did not win Tony Awards for these performances! If you get the chance to catch this show, do not hesitate, it's an absolute triumph.
MoreThe show was wonderful but the experience at the theater itself with a screaming, threatening, homophobic Shubert Organization guard ruined the whole experience.
MoreThis is a follow up review to one I posted last year. Just saw Dead Outlaw. The show was very good, but I just wanted to warn people not to sit in row A of the balcony unless you are tall, as I am 5'5 and the rail was in my sight line. I had to lean forward to watch the musical.
MoreMy wife and attended the Saturday 2:00 performance of Swept Away today. We sat in the second to last row in the orchestra. The show was very good. The seats were comfortable, the sight lines were good, and the sound was excellent. Did not use the bathrooms or climb any stairs so I have no comment on those aspects of the theatre experience.
MoreWhen you purchase your ticket, it states to arrive 30 minutes early. However, the doors did not open on time. The security at the doors was unfriendly. The theatre is well-maintained and clean. Seating in the mezzanine was not the greatest. If you are not extremely tall, then the person sitting in front of you will block some of your views.
