The opal is a beautiful gemstone known for its bright, fiery flashes of color. They say that the opal inspires creativity, imagination, love, and inner peace. OPAL is much more than Silicon Valley's favorite nightclub. To go to OPAL is to celebrate and have fun. On any given night, there could be a birthday party, a bachelorette sendoff, a Meetup, a team gathering or a company meeting.

tripadvisorEverything is way over priced and the staff was rude and arrogant.. save you money find another club
MoreWe recently moved to the Peninsula and are eager to discover the various dance clubs of the area. We very much enjoyed Oasis as well as Cat Club in San Francisco and had high expectations regarding Opal in Mountain View. Alas! The music was below average, the transitions between songs very poor, while having a constant beat added to any song, old or new. The floor is sticky and we cannot figure out if it is a feature (so dancers don’t slip) or a bug (no clue how to clean a floor splattered by so many cocktail drinks). In any case, never again.
MoreIf I could give this place a negative star, I would! My husband and I went to this club on a Saturday (10/1) and was treated with the most disrespect and not only the owner but by his security staff as well. My husband and I were turned away based on the fact that he had a tattoo on his neck and without out further explanation of just, the tattoo on his neck. I proceeded to ask the security why is that a problem and he couldn't give me a reason. They were very rude and disrespectful for no apparent reason. My husband had been racially profiled before we even got into the line. I heard the one security tell his counterpart, nope, not him. I asked the head of security to speak to the owner, and I was told that he was on there, which was a blatant lie. My husband then points out that there is the owner right there, a mere, 30 seconds after I was told a boldfaced lie that he was not there tonight. I immediately approached the owner and said excuse me, sir, can I speak to you for a second? My husband and I have been here before, and now we are being told we can not get in because of his tattoo. Is there any reason why he cant get into the club? He is in dress code and has been inside before. With that being said he vaguely respond in a dismissive way I don't know, ask my head of my security and turned his back to me to finish out his conversation. Which in my opinion was extremely rude. I approached this man in a very respectful way. They solely based the reason of not allowing my husband in because of his tattoo. We were both in dress code, looking very well and we are both two hard working people. He was racially profiled, humiliated and disrespected solely based on his looks and being an African American man in Mountain View! The treatment that we received was unwarranted. I then asked the security guard what does having a tattoo on your next equate to, troublemaker, drug dealer, the terrorist? What does it mean? It was not a tattoo of a gang sign or anything derogatory but a tattoo of our child! My thoughts were, so everyone in this club has ZERO tattoos. Meanwhile, someone comes to the door from inside of the club with tattoo up the front of his next (white male, might I add). I pointed him out, and then the security proceeded to ignore the blatantly evident that there is some on inside of the club with a tattoo on his neck. So I guess there was an exception to the rule (not being of color). Lastly, while we stood there to let our friends no that we would not be joining their party the security goes on to say this is Mountain View so they should know what's up That was a very racial and offensive comment to say to people of having visited your establishment before. My husband and I will not be returning to this club let alone the city of Mountain View since this is how they roll. Very disheartening experience based on all of the hate going on in America today! So if you were to ask us if we would recommend this club to any of your friends my response would be HELL NO!
MoreOccasion: Birthday celebration Date: Saturday night 9/30/17 Group of 8 We drove 1 hr 35 min to get to this nightclub. It was all of our first time experiencing a bay area night out. We made sure we arrived early to avoid traffic, accidents, etc. Parking was easy since there was a free parking lot around the block. We arrived around 10-1030pm. There was no line at the front entrance and so we made our way inside easily. We paid the cover charge $10/person which is cheaper than any other clubs I've been to in the central valley. The bar is the first thing you'll see when you enter. It's an island of it's own and so it made it quite easy to get a drink from any angle. There were 3 bartenders so plenty of service available. The dance floor was small, you could barely dance or walk through it to get to the ladies restroom (which is upstairs on a narrow pathway). 2nd floor was a small area for private events. Anyways, throughout the whole night, it was fun. We moved from the crowded dance floor over to the bar area in front of the entrance. There were plenty of room for us to dance, get a drink, and hangout. Drink prices were fair, though strong. I knocked off 2 stars because we actually got removed from the club. The incident happened when the ladies and I went up stairs to use the restroom. This was around 12-1230am. That being said, the restroom was getting dirty and trashed everywhere. We came out to walk down the stairs and my friend in front had a whole bunch of toilet paper stuck to her heels. While she bent over to take them off, there was a vip-tender girl who was carrying drinks in a tray down the stairs. She had to wait just a few seconds while my friend was removing the toilet paper and I believe she got annoyed. After we walked down the stairs, she had told one of the security guy standing there to remove my friend who is drunk and wobbly. EXCUSE ME?! All I remembered was the security guy holding onto my friend and telling her she has to leave because she was drunk! Are you serious??? So my group of friends all were getting upset at the whole incident because clearly my friend was NOT drunk and we did not understand why we were being removed.... it didn't seem fair. We didn't want to cause a scene anymore and we decided to just leave peacefully. I was for sure going to write a review on this night out at this place because after reading numerous reviews about other clubs in the area, this was by far the most high star rating with good reviews. We were all excited to come out and enjoy our night. Sadly, we probably will not be returning to this club....
MoreWe usually go there with our friends on Saturday nights and have the best time. They play the best music and usually gets crowded around 11 pm. Good crowd and drinks are pretty reasonable. I would recomend this place to anyone.
