tripadvisorWe went to a free afternoon concert by the Tucson symphony orchestra which was excellent. This was a free sampler of what was to come in their ongoing concerts. We enjoyed it very much, so professional as well. Seats were comfortable and the space was a bit larger than we are used to back in the UK. What I found was a bit strange that people were allowed to take drinks and popcorn in. The smell of popcorn while watching a symphony programme was a bit off putting to say the least.
MoreNot new building but good. The ladies room was very clean Helpful staff. No line at the bar. Wine price $8.00 Parking garage was sorta far for me to walk. $10.00
MoreAcoustics were horrible, could not understand any lyrics. No space for social distancing when in drink line (squashed together), bathrooms were not marked overhead so people were wandering around, and once found, had to break thru intensely tight drink line. I tested positive for Covid 6 days later. No didn't come in contact with folks since concert. Seats were miserable in that they slouched back. If you are a 6'4 big person, then it would be comfortable. However, if smaller, you end up with tweaked spine & backache.
MoreThey've renamed this place after Linda Ronstadt and finally found a way to hide that giant black cable that ran all the way down the right wall. But this is still an inadequate music hall. The seats are literally 50 across, in rows with no center aisle. Lovely in case of emergency. The acoustics stink for any kind of music other than loud rock. The truly wonderful Tucson Symphony Orchestra is forced to play about half of its concerts here, and the other half at the Catalina Foothills High School auditorium. which is in fact a far better concert hall. A major symphony and a major city deserve a better concert venue than Tucson Music Hall.
MoreWent to the Jackson Browne concert last night. Very disappointed as they made me put my very small purse in my car as they were only allowing clear bags inside. I was also handed a cheaply made kn95 mask and was told it was a requirement to wear them. Once I got inside, most people had replaced the kn95 with their own mask. No social distancing and no empty seats. I am vaccinated but felt the venue was not ensuring anyone's safety. We left half way through the show to avoid the crowds.
