tripadvisorYou need to try this and bring the family! Kathleen (owner) was the best, and gears her presentation to the participants (as possible). I took my two skeptical teens along with me, and they came away amazed. My 14 year old son said, This was the best ever! and then immediately posted a photo of himself with Louise the owl. That says it all for me. Highly recommended and we will return next time we are in Reno, NV.
MoreMy son LOVED this!!Kathleen was extremely accommodating to my booking mistake- and responded promptly.A great memory shared with my son for his birthday!!
MoreI took the opportunity for an outing to Raptor Adventures while visiting friends in Reno. We started with a presentation by Kathleen Tigan that was under a nice shaded area with chairs and refreshments. Kathleen shared her wealth of knowledge on the raptors, the session was extremely engaging and informative. She was assisted by 3 raptors – a Hawk, a Falcon and an Owl. She explained the different traits, behaviors, hunting styles of these birds. She encouraged questions and made it very interactive. During the presentation there was opportunity to handle the birds. After learning about the birds we then went into the field to see a Harris Hawk in action. I actually experienced having the hawk fly from a perch and return to my glove which was awesome!Highly recommend that anyone with an interest in nature makes the time to visit. FYI – recommend you wear closed shoes like sneakers for the short field walk.
MoreI recently booked a session with Raptor Adventures, not knowing what to expect and it was awesome. It was like being out in the wild. The Falconer Kathleen Tigan was amazing with her presentation and knowledge of the Raptors. I was able to handle a giant Owl, a falcon, and a hawk, which was really cool. Then we went to the field where we got to see firsthand how the hawks hunt and actually got to hold them by sending the birds off and returning to our glove. It was quite the experience. I would recommend this to anyone who wants to have a good time and I recommend to bring the whole family.
MoreI have always been fascinated with Birds of Prey, and marveled at these majestic creatures. My sister and I shared this Amazing experience. We were absorbed into another world, the ancient world of the falconer.Jim shared his vast knowledge of history and importance these beautiful birds, while these gentle birds kindly accepted us unconditionally and earned even more respect , awe, and love if that is possible. This is a must do bucket list experience for anyone who respects our planet and loves animals!
