tripadvisorElectrical not working properly at the plug in. Could not use outlets, a/c or microwave. We checked output at the post. 120 volts on one half, 77 volts on the other side. Told camp host, he called another person who came out and filled out a work order for it to be checked. This was a concrete premium spot too. Probably ought to check all spots more frequently so campers do not encounter these kind of issues.
MoreLocated on a patch of land that once was described as The World's Most Beautiful Farm, Longview Lake is a 930-acre freshwater reservoir in parts of Kansas City, Lee's Summit and Grandview, Missouri, that is situated in the 4,852-acre Longview Lake Park and is part of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers' Little Blue River Project for flood control, recreation and fish and wildlife conservation. That's a mouthful but Longview Lake, which opened in 1986 and draws an average of one million visitors a year, is worth all of the time and money that the U.S. Congress put into it. The lake offers a full acre of sand that makes for plenty of room to enjoy the water or sunbathe or participate in beach volleyball. For fishermen, the lake is stocked with a wide variety of species, including bluegill, largemouth bass, crappie, walleye, carp and channel catfish. Boating enthusiasts have options for power boating, jet skis, kayaking and canoeing while a full-service marina offers concessions, fuel, fishing supplies and slip rental. Meanwhile, the surrounding park presents opportunities for camping, golf, softball, picnicking, biking, hiking, horseback riding, even radio-controlled aircraft flying.
MoreThe lake itself is nice, but people at the boat dock are so incredibly rude.If you like sketchy people swearing obscenities at your family because you are loading/unloading your boat and respectfully using the facilities as intended, then this will be the place for you. The lake should have some management at the mouse creek ramp. It is unsafe, the behaviour of people there. Also, the EPA has listed fish in the lake as unsafe to eat because of high mercury levels. Families are fishing, and there are no warning signs the fish are listed as unsafe to eat.
MoreNice fishing, even with all the garbage under highgrove rd bridge. Catching crappie, bass and cat. All season spot!!!!
MoreReally good walk. There were some plastic flowing on the lake. That sad sight made us really unhappy.
