tripadvisorWe found a good selection of bikes for rental and great advice for our first time riding in Tucson. Brett worked with us to help us find two great days of road riding in this great cycling city!
MoreVery friendly staff. They rented us some road bikes for a day on Mt. Lemmon. They were solid, had climbing-friendly gearing and no issues. Good deal, and they even checked the compatibility of our rental car when we rented a bike rack as well.
MoreMy wife and I are recently retired, and decided to shop for new bikes for ourselves today . We did our online research, singled out the brands we were interested in, then looked up the bike shops in Tucson that carried and stocked those brands. Our search began at Roadrunner bikes and we were greeted by Dan, who took us under his wing. He was highly professional, friendly, patient with all our questioning, and didn’t try to steer us away from our desired entry level choices. We test drove the bikes, asked lots more questions that were patiently answered, and by the time we were done we both felt that this shopping day was off to a great start. We went on to several other shops in town to compare other brands. But the vibe in those shops wasn’t nearly as good as at Roadrunner, a locally owned shop and not a corporately owned branch. Anyway, after seeing the competition we still felt that Roadrunner had the best option for us, and cut short the rest of the shopping to buy our bikes from Dan. So we bought a Giant for me and a Liv for my wife. Our experience was just super with Dan and I highly recommend you seek him out if you visit. And by the way, we think we got a lot for our money and saved quite a bit over the competing brands. Enough to buy a hitch mount bike carrier which is our next mission.
MoreNot one, but two chain breaks on the Loop, and Google directed us here. Lucky us! Incredibly helpful, went out of their way to check our chains and make a suggestion. Saved the day and we were able to continue riding another section.
MorePLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THESE GUYS. I took my bike to RR 3 weeks ago to get the flat front tire fixed and to do a tune up, including an adjustment on the breaks. One the things they convinced me to do was to switch both tubes to a more resistant one they had. Finally, on June 17 they called me to pick it up. On the very next day, after riding the bike in the morning, the front as flat again. I also noticed the breaks were not touched. I had a pump, so I was able to get home and I decided not to ride it again until I was sure the tire was fine. Yesterday, I rode it to work and guess what? Front tire flat one more time. Today I rode it (the tire got there flat again) to RR and asked them what happened. After a quick examination, the answer was: thorns!!! They found a very small one. I couldn’t believe. asked if the thorns were responsible for the flat tires all the time and they said “yes”. Funny that only the front tire was affected. The back tire was fine. Then the absurd happened: they would fix it but would charge me again!!!! So, the “stronger” tube they said they would install had exactly the same performance as the original one! These guys are crooks! They never did the job they were hired for. They never changed the tubes and never did the tune in. Another customer got there and when he left, I overheard the RR guys laughing and saying, “he will be back tomorrow, and we will charge him again”. So, that’s what they do: they promise a service, never do it and charge you twice, taking advantage of their customers during this time of crisis. I decided to leave, and l take my bike to another place. PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THESE GUYS.
