tripadvisorRight across from ball park but still not in a good area. Hotel grounds are great, very clean. Front desk check in was quick and easy. Lobby, hallways immaculate. Room was good sized but took a long time to cool down with AC. Great night sleep, super quite. Room and bathroom super clean. The bistro food just wasn't that tasty. Everything tasted right out of a can.Parking with oversized car was not safe. Still had to pay the parking fee to park in a dirt lot with no cameras, no gate, no security, on other side of the parking garage. Thus, a mixed bag on my stay.
MorePleasant stay for a last minute overnight for a visit to University of Nevada, Reno. Hotel is directly across from nice Aces baseball stadium and maybe 5-10 minutes from the UNR campus. View of stadium was fun (request if you’re a baseball fan). Outdoor seating (few tables) by quiet river was nice. Bistro good food, Starbucks coffee. Room & bed super comfortable. Quiet room with fan option for white noise. Great staff. Ubers were about 5-8 mins out. A unique feature was the cut out shelf between shower and sink area. Hard to explain but as a frequent traveler who is constantly moving face wash between sink then shower it was handy. Plus large enough for towel & washcloth. Would stay again.
MoreIf you a platinum or titanium member, avoid this hotel. I have been lifetime titanium for almost 10 years, staying over 1,300 nights in Marriott hotels. This is the first Marriott, where nothing has offered for a titanium member. No free coffee, no free breakfast, nothing! Moreover, everything is way overpriced in this hotel. I did a trip with my family and had to pay $16 to do a load of laundry here. Also had to pay seven dollars for a cup of coffee in the morning. As I mentioned, nothing is free if you have any type of status with Marriott at this hotel.
MoreThey are not very friendly here. They have to do the job, but they really don't want to and see guests as imposition and do not want to be bothered. Even when you are checking in. First gal gave us a ball park view room, but when we got up there, it was a view of other rooms in a closed off triangle. While our first Marriott on this vacation had multiple plumbing issues, this one did too. Sink backed up and would not drain. That was fixed, but overall, the front desk is not friendly and is resentful of guests. I thought I was in CA but I wasn't.Location is great and you can easily walk to other restaurants. Great place to walk across and see the Reno Aces. Garage parking is easy and accessible. Room was clean. Don't bother asking for daily housekeeping service, it is not their policy and they will not do it.Lots of homeless all about the Riverfront and near environs. Sleeping in door fronts, and on bikes and walking, but I did not see any tents or encampments. Vacant store fronts and the Municipal Building seemed to be abandoned. Cal Neva was raggedy and even had plywood on a broken window. We felt like we were back in San Diego with all of this. Unless we are going to an Aces game we would not stay here again.
MoreNice hotel, clean, comfortable. My bed was old and one side was saggy bit i just used the other side. Parking garage across street! On waterfront, walk to lots of food.
