tripadvisorI visited on the 80th anniversary of Ernie's death, with the library holding a memorial/tour. The librarian gave an excellent talk with background about Ernie & Geri, and how exactly the city library acquired their home. A few personal items are on display along with photos and letters. It's a working library in a small house so it can't hold large crowds. Definitely worth a look if you know Ernie's story or want to learn more. I think Ernie the writer would love the fact that his home now benefits the local library system.
MoreIt is a cool little house that has been turned into a library. I was expecting more information on Ernie Pyle, but there was only a few small exhibits. I wish that had added a few more exhibits explaining his life and works.
MoreThere is nothing inside or outside the building except the sign stating this is the Ernie Pyle library that would indicate Ernie Pyle ever lived here & there are no displays about Ernie Pyle in the library. This is nothing but a typical small library. Better to read about it online than come here.
MoreErnie Pyle was a great American writer and war correspondent. The Library which is actually the only home he ever owned is a fascinating ode to Ernie and his wife. A great stop for any WWII historians or Americana aficionados.
MoreThis is actually a functioning neighborhood library in the home Pyle owned in ABQ. There are a few interesting displays, including a table with his original writing and notes. Interesting place, helpful staff member.
