San Felipe de Neri is the visual, geographical and spiritual heart of Old Town. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the original Pueblo-style building was constructed in 1793; the distinctive Gothic wooden steeples were added in 1861. Rose gardens welcome the visitor to the church's front courtyard. Stepping into the cool interior you will discover beautiful tin work, vigas (wooden beams) and five feet thick adobe walls.

tripadvisorBeautiful 230 year old church in old town. Across from the plaza with so much history. If you visit old town, just stop in and take a look.
MoreThe San Felipe Catholic Church dominates the Plaza Vieja and takes up one full side of the square with the church building & rectory. The church dates back to 1793 and is in great condition and is the only Spanish colonial period building surviving today. The Church has been continually operating for over 230 years. Unfortunately, there was a special service due to start so access was not available.
MoreThe museum/gift shop employees were unwelcoming to my family and I. We immediately noticed that everyone was welcomed and greeted when they entered except us. This made the visit uncomfortable. Even as we were browsing through we were stared at. For this being our first time visiting the gift shop it was not what we were expecting.
MoreThis is the big cathedral church in town, located in the historic old part of town. This is an important part of the Mexican-American culture here and big events are held here. Step inside for history.
MoreThis is a beautiful church founded in 1706. It is definitely worth a stop inside to take a look and a few pictures and, of course, to say a prayer. There is a little museum inside too.
