tripadvisorWe had the BEST time last Sunday, July 5 at your park! Maybe because many families traveled to other larger parks. Limes were so quick, 5 min wait and ALL staff members were helpful and friendly! My husband and myself are in our 60s and brought our 7 & 9 yr old granddaughters and we all had plenty to do! We will definitely go back! Thank you for a memorable experience! Sandra
MoreIt had been almost a couple decades since a friend and I were last here, so we added this as a stop on our trip this summer. There have been a few changes, most of which are good. Some older classic rides have been removed; some had been relocated in the park. Management does a good job shoehorning their rides into a small area. The rides seemed to be operating in good condition. The New Mexico Rattle coaster was a little bumpy. Wooden coasters are because the wood has lenticels which absorb moisture, making the wood swell on rainy or damp days. There has been some new wood on the coaster as part of their maintenance. A couple spots are in need of replaced wood, and I am sure the maintenance crew is aware of those areas. We did eat lunch in the park. The food was not bad for a park. It was reasonably priced. Most of the employees we encountered were friendly enough. The two things that lowered their rating from good to average occurred at the end of the day. In order to help support the park, my friend and I purchased items at the gift shop. When we asked for a bag to put our items in, we were told there were NO bags in the entire park. Really? That is odd. No bags to put your purchased good in. The guy in the gift shop suggested I try guest services. One the way to guest services to inquire about a bag, we passed the exit to the park. I thought why not just take the items to the car and return. I asked one of the guys at the exit if I needed a handstamp in order to reenter the park. He told me that if I left the park, I would NOT be allowed to come back in. I questioned that. He said it was a policy that in the last hour of the park, no one is allowed to enter. I told him why I wanted to go to my car. It was to put the gifts in since there were no bags in the park. He looked at his watch as did I. It was THREE minutes after the cut off. I said to him, You really mean I can't just run these to the car. I am going to be gone like two minutes. I won't bring anything back in. He told me that the metal detectors are now off, and I would have to leave if I exited. Okay.....Had I known this, my friend and I might have waited until the end of the park's scheduled hours to buy gifts, but then we might have run into the gift shop closing early (similar to something that happened at another park on this same trip). We might have decided NOT to purchase anything at all, too. Little things like this is what irritates the public.I ended up going to guest services and explained all that had happened, from no bag available to not being let back in if I took things to the car. The ladies in and around guest services said they had no bags. One suggested that we put our things in the cubbies available. I told them the cubbies were on the dirty side, and we did not want to get our new items dirty. One found a paper towel to give me. Not much help.....We went to ride the train to wrap up our day. I figured we could take things on the train as it is a slow ride. Nope! Everything had to be left in the stating ON THE GROUND! No cubbies there. I complied, but I am not happy with this. Their Galaxi coaster is another coaster that must have full trains in order to operate, just like other similar coasters at park in the west. Keep that in mind if you are here on a slow day.Overall, it is a great little park. Clean grounds. A good selection of rides. Just a couple things need to be fixed in order to make it better and score a better rating. Get some bags, monogramed ones with your park's name and logo on them, to use for items purchased in the gift shop. And management, if you are reading this, rethink your policy about not allowing people back in the park the last hour, especially for something as simple was wanting to take things to the car so they won't get lost while patrons are still in the park. On busy days, I can understand maybe not allowing reentry. But on a slower day like this, and only being three minutes after the magic hour, I am sure your security team could wait another two or three minutes for people such as I who wanted to put something in their cars. I mean, what are you going to do that last hour after you put the metal detectors away? Stand around and shoot the breeze, or will you be circulating in the park to make sure things are safe?I wish you the best.
MoreGreat way to spend a day. Even though we went on a Saturday, it wasn't too busy. The lines for the rides were not long at all. Great that the waterpark was included in the price.
MoreA chad amusement park! Best ever! I loved all the staff and the rides were amazing!! Food and games were perfect! best in NM!
MoreThey have added rides and different things to the park! If you went as a child, it still feels the same. Good job!
