We were informed by the world class guy who welcomed us that Akron “did not have much of a climbing community”. After a session at Rock Mill I would have added...”yet”. This is a beautiful space, with a lobby stocked with gear and food goodies. Though RockMill is strictly bouldering it is well-designed, with a route grades color-coded but consistently challenging. Though we are experienced climbers from Florida, the staff were gracious and made the process for two newbies nice and smooth. In ten years this gym will likely be known as “the original location”!

I visited here for the first time and was very impressed with the facility and staff. I have never been to a rock-climbing gym before, but this place sure seems to be very classy. The staff member at the front desk was very polite and gave me a tour even though I didn't express an interest in membership there. They have a small workout room with free weights, a couple treadmills, and some other equipment. They also have a room designated for yoga. According to the staff, the yoga is focused on increasing strength and flexibility for rock-climbing. The rock-climbing gym itself is massive! You could spend a long time there if you know what you're doing. Being an amateur, I tore some skin on my fingers after about an hour of climbing, and therefore had to stop. (Bring tape!) Staff checked on me periodically as I climbed, but were not a nuisance or pushy - you can go at your own pace. Check out their website for more info!

This place is the best adult playground around! Everything was very clean and in very good condition. The staff was super nice and even came to see how I liked it during my first visit. Everyone there was super nice and had amazing skills, I will definitely return!
