tripadvisorWith so many galleries to see in Santa Fe, we are always looking for the ones with something unique from any other gallery. Here, we found some gorgeous stone slabs that had been placed elevated on a platform, then the surrounding background continued the pattern in the stone, something you have to see to appreciate. The artist pair is Marlys Mallet and Michael Redhawk, and their work was by far one of the best I've seen in Santa Fe.
MoreWonderful gallery of modern art on Canyon Road. The works of Dens Tollefson, Ed Sandoval, Trés Taylor, Joy Richardson are very interesting and each artist had his/her own distinctive style. The sculpture garden is also lovely.
MoreWe love coming to Canyon Road to see work by artists we don't see on the East coast. Along with that is seeing techniques artists use to create something different. Canyon Road Contemporary Art fills that bill. We were amazed by many pieces in the gallery, including some collaborations by husband and wife teams. I just wish we had more space at home to fit some of these pieces. Friendly staff too, willing to discuss techniques used by the artists.
MoreWhile most of the art focuses on the Native American and Latino/a artists native to the area, many of the gallery have all sorts of art. It’s worth planning a long walk with visits to the many, many galleries even if art purchases are not on your menu. Fascinating.
MoreWe strolled into this gallery while cruising the shops along Canyon Road. What a special delight for us to discover several new artists of unique contemporary pieces, the type you won't find many places and an owner spending time with us explaining the techniques used. They represent several upcoming artists as well as established ones. Some glass, jewelry, but mostly wall art.
