New Mexico is very much known for its rocks and rock-hounding opportunities, so I stopped in this shop with a goldsmith friend on a previous trip to Santa Fe. It was awesome!! There aren't a lot of shops like this around, and there are sooooo many different kinds of stones available - especially turquoise, which they have available from many different states and mines. I ended up bringing home a beautiful stone for my Mom, and for my nieces, I was able to pick up a few cut garnets that looked really impressive to go in a wooden treasure chest they have, super cheap! The staff are incredibly helpful and friendly (and sometimes musical *L*) and it just made for a real cool, if atypical, tourist experience overall. A nice change from the standard tourist traps - would absolutely recommend for anyone looking for something special and different (that doesn't cost a fortune!) while in Santa Fe or New Mexico more broadly.
