tripadvisorWe enjoyed the Old Town Lewisville area and the Wayne Ferguson Plaza. It is a very pleasant area to explore.
MoreFerguson Plaza is in the center of Old Town Lewisville. The whole area is one block wide and about seven blocks long. Church street runs along the north, and Main runs along the south. Stores, restaurants, boutiques, bars and the plaza can be found here. The plaza itself is a block long grassy park between Charles and Mill street. It's a great place to walk your dog, read a book, play Frisbee, or throw a football. There is a stage on the east end where live music or events can be held. Checkout the City of Lewisville website and search for Sounds of Lewisville Concert Series. They have outdoor concerts every Tuesday night during certain months of the year. First Friday is also a cool event. Every first Friday of the month from 6:00-10:00 PM, there is an outdoor vendor and food fair with live music. By itself, Ferguson Plaza is not worth the drive to visit. However, it's the center piece of Old Town and that is worth the drive. This plaza and Old Town should be paired together and enjoyed.
MoreThe plaza was a 1.5 acre parking lot before it's renovation: public parking is across the street at the city hall so there is easy parking. It backs up /is across the alley from the old downtown buildings. But the alley isn't dirty, there is seating from restaurants, etc ...basically it is a small road now. The plaza itself is really pretty with lots of native perennials and a large lawn space with a stage for events. Really nice for a picnic, hanging out, or taking the kids. The project actually won a Texas ASLA (American Society of Landscape Architects) award.
MoreThis cute little park is nestled in the historic downtown neighborhood of Lewisville. It's right across from food, shopping, and city hall. The fountains and flowers give it a quiet feeling though it's right in the middle of downtown.
Moreit may have taken longer than we wanted to get completed but, it's truly a gem.A great place to have a coffee with friends, a picnic with famil or enjoy some music during Lewisville's Sounds of Lewisville seriesBeautiful
