This is a cool spot for a visit. So historic and so much to see. Perfect set up for photo shoot… just for the scenery.

The downtown is really a nice one--not a great one, but very nice and worth a look. There are a number of nice Victorian structures that are well executed. There is a very nice Richardson Romanesque old bank building on the SW corner that is well done with some nice stone carvings. The downtown has a lot of shops and it appears to be successful. The Courthouse is an obvious replacement for the original one that probably burned down. It is one of the smallest and least attractive ones we have seen in Texas--which has some really great ones that I have written up on my site. We did not even bother to go inside this one!

Have visited numerous small town Texas squares as I traverse the state collecting images of all 254 Texas County Courthouses. Seguin has one of the more lively squares in the state. Lots to do here, shopping and dining in restaurants. The day we arrived the pecan festival was in full swing with the courthouse streets blocked off for example. If in the Hill Country, stop by Seguin and walk the square. You will be glad you did.

You can see that there have been many storefront reno's done, and many in the works. Plenty of fun shopping venues and food joints.
