The Tower Life building was completed in 1929 and was once the tallest but remains San Antonio's most revered skyscraper. Standing at 404 feet tall it is currently the 4th tallest but is still the tallest eight sided structure in the United States. While walking around the city during the day it is a nice patriotic site to see with the American flag flying from its 114 foot flagpole. It is just as impressive at night with the upper portion of the building lit up. The Tower Life building is on the National Register of Historic Places.

We saw this building at night from street. Stopped in lobby and it was very pretty Art Deco. A lot of law offices so that was it inside. We could see the gargoyles from the hotel we stayed in. Really cool and great with lights at night

This is fun to see at night when the building is lighted with colorful lights. The gargoyles are reminiscent of the old buildings you might find in Europe, bringing the old European continent to San Antonio.

This is maybe the most iconic skyscraper downtown, it's historic and has old style. You will notice it and should walk around it to observe the old downtown.

This building was once the tallest building west of the Mississippi. It also has some unique features like gargoyles and strange faces that were to discourage evil spirits. We were able to see it from our hotel balcony and it is easily seen and accessed from the Riverwalk. With the high flying American flag it is the signature vertical structure for the city.
