During the upheaval caused by the Coronavirus, PHOC has done a good job through the internet of affording members continued opportunities to get outdoors and stay active while complying with distancing regulations. This has been mentally and physically beneficial for club members.

The Piedmont Hiking and Outdoor Club is a great resource in the Greensboro and Winston-Salem areas. The group has a varied range of hikes and other activities (camping, kayaking) available. The range of hikes combined with an interesting and friendly group of people have provided us with enjoyable outings to Stone Mountain, Hanging Rock and other trails.

Good power point presentation about the hikes some members did in Spain this past spring. Refreshments were served and members had a good time visiting beforehand.

8 of us took a little traveled route up two trails, 1,800 feet, for a view into the Blue Ridge Mountains. 8 miles round trip. Group included long time members and brand new ones. Truly, everyone had a good time, burned a bunch of calories and strengthened our bodies.

Just went kayaking on the French Broad River with the kayakers in the PHOC. Awesome trip!! I've done several kayak river trips with the group now and thoroughly enjoyed every one. Love the hiking in the NC mountains too!! Great group of active people to hang out with.
