tripadvisorSpecial tours must be arranged to see this exceptional private collection of cars! These tours must be reserved through the City of Boonville Visitors Center. Once you are there, wow what a collection!! Your personal tour guide is so knowledgeable and informative! Definitely worth the time!A must see for any car buff!
MoreThe tour guide was very knowledgeable about the cars in this collection. Teenagers got bored quick but my father, who loves cars, had a great time. There are boards that tell you what the car cost when it came out and what that would be today, that was cool.
MoreThis museum was a highlight of my time in Boonville. It houses a collection of very unusual Mitchell autos that was assembled by a descendant of the Mitchell family. Our tour guide, Jade, did a great job of explaining the history of Mitchell autos and also explaining what motoring was like in the early days so it went far beyond seeing some cool old cars. She had some great stories about assembling the collection. I think the website says tours are available by appointment which may sound a little intimidating- check in the visitors' center next door to see what tours they have scheduled.
MoreOur group of 49 people thoroughly enjoyed our tour of the Mitchell cars. We were given a very informative tour by Jade and were allowed to browse on our own and ask questions. The entire museum was immaculate and so well done. We allowed an hour for the tour which was adequate except for the real car enthusiasts who would have appreciated more time. Lewis Miller, staff, and volunteers were extremely helpful in answering all questions. Thanks so much for making this museum a fun stop for us.
MoreThis is a fabulous collection of such a historic vehicle. Museum is So well done and beautifully appointed. Jade, the archivist, provides a wonderful tour. She is so passionate about the treasures and certainly makes their history and Mitchell Family history come alive. Ask for Jade before you go. Well worth the cost and your time.
