---I recently stayed at El Cortez Segal Suites in Reno and overall had a very positive experience. This is not the Ritz-Carlton, Marriott, or even a Holiday Inn — so if you’re expecting luxury amenities, book those places (and pay their prices). For travelers like me who are humble, on a budget, and just need a safe place to stay, this is a solid option. The suites provide the basics: a bed, refrigerator, microwave, TV, and internet. My one-bedroom unit was comfortable, though guests do need to provide their own linens, towels, and hygiene items. The price is fantastic compared to most other options in the area, and the staff are friendly and family-oriented.Security is excellent with guards watching the building closely, which gave me peace of mind. There is laundry on-site, and while I did notice the occasional roach, management stays on top of spraying and it’s not an infestation issue. Common areas are kept clean, though sometimes fellow tenants can be a little less tidy.If you’re staying in Reno long-term or for several months and you’re on a tight budget, this place is a very practical solution. Clean, safe, and well-managed — exactly what I needed without breaking bank account.

The rooms for the tourists are nice. For monthlies, only a microwave and dishwasher, no oven to use. Elevator frequently gives out. Management not nice. Creepy place. Drug users throughout. Not a nice place.

My hubby and I went there because it was cheap and near to our vocational training school. The place looks run down on the inside with carpet missing and rude staff. The rooms are minimal and smell like dust. DO NOT TURN OFF THE LIGHT! The moment you do, the walls will literally crawl with nasty little roaches and the manager won't do a damn thing about it. The floors feel like they haven't been cleaned in months and they charge one dollar per snack cake that you can get at WalMart for 3 dollars a box. It's a horrid place to stay, but the Pizza Place next door is nice!

Real small room. Roaches. They have a library you can get books. There Is a bar for drinkers w karaoke. After we left I asked my friend if they experienced any thing. He said there were a lot of shadows moving in and out. Yup that l do it.

As I was was relocating to the Lake Tahoe area I looked for an extended stay until I found the area where I wanted to live. The location of this hotel is downtown, which if you like casinos is good, but in looking at this establishment, this is not the place you want to stay for a getaway and you will not be pleased with the long term residents who reside here. That is the nicest way I can tell you to look elsewhere.
