This is the perfect sized museum: over multiple floors, there are a wide variety of exhibits, but none of them are overwhelming. We have been several times over the years, and it feels like it reinvents itself each time. Plenty of space for visitors to spread out. Stop by the gift shop to make sure you get some local goodies like chocolates!

Very much enjoyed this exhibit . Thoughtful beautiful and /or emotion invoking art about the result of climate change and modern mankind’s detrimental effect on Mother Earth. This exhibit takes up 2nd and 3rd floors . Think water resources and trash !

WOW!! Highly recommend going before January 2026 for the Ichthyosaur exhibit, it was amazing and so informative, current, and local. Also loved the Langston Hughes exhibit and Dorthea Lange exhibit. UNR students get in for free with their student ID card, so it's a great day out for students.

We were looking forward to visiting the Nevada Museum of Art but left feeling disappointed. The admission fee was quite high compared to what the museum offers. The Indigenous handwoven baskets and Dorothea Lange’s Depression-era photographs were beautiful and memorable. However, beyond those few pieces, the exhibits felt sparse and lacked depth. While some visitors may find value here, we personally would suggest prioritizing other experiences in Reno if your time is limited.

I do enjoy coming here as there is always something interesting to see. Usually part of the expos has a Nevada theme, and this time it was prehistoric fish with fossils from the Nevada desert. There was some attractive Aboriginal Australian art. Did not take much time to see it all. Nice objects in the gift shop.
