We are a family of 4 and rented a pontoon for a couple of days for a very competitive price. Mario was extremely helpful and flexible, and gave us a trial/ training cruise. He delivered and collected. We had a great time - no problems- very clean and comfortable. Great; would recommend. He also offered various tours, with him as captain, next visit, at a very good prices.

I have been boating since I was 5 years old. Have sailboat on Lake Michigan and pontoon and two speed boats in eagle river Wisconsin at summer cabin. I have rented boats in Naples for 2 years but living in golf community daily rentals were the only way to go, at 350 to 550 dollars a day. I rented from Pelican and was extremely happy with the rate and caliber of boat. The boat ran perfectly and I knew it was not this years model but if money does'nt matter rent daily so you dont have a day without perfect sunshine. We still cruised to local food and drink area's most days and it was great to have the boat at the dock when the perfect sunset cruise availed itself. If you can drive, dock a boat, and read depth charts this service is the best I have found. I rented for a week, and extended to ten days, happy as a pig in mud with my experience. Bernie from Ohio

8/2020 Rented the Bayliner 245 for 3 days. Did some paperwork at his home. Reviewed the boat on the dock and set out. It took 30 mins to get from his dock through the lock and another 30 to dock near my rental. Topped the fuel up at my dock. I decided to mix Lucas fuel treatment in my fuel cans to help counter act any condensation or possible fuel issues. Inboard boats with carburetors are known to vapor lock when the motor gets hot. Hence the need to run the blower fan when the motor is running. The additive also helps reduce the chance of vapor lock while cleaning the fuel, fuel system, and carb. The boat started and ran excellent for all 3 days. I was operating in and around Matlacha. Very shallow water in lots of areas. Had a great 1st day anchored out on the west coast of Sanibel Island. 4ft depth to the sand and 50ft from the shore. During the boat home, took the long way back and wound up 4 ft from the channel buoy (on the wrong side) and wound up grounding the boat in low tide. GPS said we were in 8 ft of water when we made contact. Depth gauge said 18 inches. Thank God I had sucked up the drive unit. We had bought the Tow Service in our package so other than the embarrassment and wait, no cost to get back on our way. Boating back to our dock in the dark with only cell phones to use as lights sucked. But that was our fault. Rained all day next day. Went back out on day 3 had a great experience. On the ride back the boat threw an alarm that we were low on drive fluid. Docked the boat and went to the store to buy more. Topped it up along with the engine oil and took it back to Joe. Turns out I put enough damage on the prop it had to be replaced and the time to buy and add fluids ran me late on the return. Joe charged me a reasonable fee to replace the prop and a minimal amount on the late fee. Everything on the boat worked correctly. The only thing that may have not been correct was the inboard drive indicator seemed a little off. Not a big deal. After grounding his boat in Matlacha I would be more worried about him letting me rent from him again than taking out the Bayliner 245. I would do business with him again....if he let me.

poor condition boats, they look nothing as advertised. Scary noises, nasty seats, nasty smells. The boat even stalled multiple times. I was scared to turn it off out of fear that it wouldnt turn on.

Based on prior reviews, I was leary to rent from Pelican. He had a boat available the week we needed it. Before reserving, I asked for photos of the boat since I was concerned about the age and cleanliness. The photos I received of the Bayliner definitely showed the age of the boat but since it was the only boat we could find, we decided to go with it. We can handle old. I told him that the rental property requires his boat insurance. When I sent him credit card deposit, I wrote on it that again I need the insurance policy. The next day i emailed him asking for it and he responded that the boat was no longer available...that it broke down. Now 2 weeks before out trip we are without a boat. Buyer beware on this one.
