They are a much bigger scam than any GYM. They scammed me as well, and I am now fighting with my bank to recover my money. My monthly charge was supposed to be $22.24. I later froze my account, but they continued to be charged. The first charge after freezing the account was a monthly fee of $22.24. The following month, I was charged $74.43.I contacted them, and they stated that they would issue a credit and asked me to allow time for the correction. However, the following month, instead of receiving a credit for the overpayment, I was charged again.Today, I requested that the account be canceled. They demanded a $30 cancellation fee, even though I was never under any contract, and this fee was never disclosed. I am not confident they will cancel the account, given their prior misrepresentation that it was frozen. I plan to file a complaint with the FTC next.Unfortunately, I was unable to use the service for months, while I was out of town, so I initially requested a freeze, which they granted and confirmed with a follow-up email. They are not adhering to their confirmation email. IThey are charging directly through the bank account number, not just the debit card. As a result, I will have to close my bank account and open a new one to stop these fraudulent charges.

The gym is so overcrowded and is definitely a judgement zone. Cancellation is a ridiculous process. It cannot be done online or at the gym. It has to be done via a 1-888 number at their regularly scheduled business hours. The people I talked with were difficult to understand, wanted an ADDITIONAL form of payment and were rude. They couldn't give me a cancellation confirmation or transaction number. I was told to 'call the gym at some time and they'll confirm it'-direct quote. This is not a good business.

Overcrowded Gym literally billed me after they told me my membership was canceled, for like a year, to cancel your membership call 888-549-0293, they will give you a confirmation number and charge you a 30-dollar cancelation fee. There are ton's of sneaky ways that they charge you more money, don't buy into it.

Don't do it if you are a serious gym goer. The gym in Athens is full of UGA students who sit on machines and then scroll through their cell phones. When you consider how packed it is from 6 AM until 10 PM you really will not be able to get a full workout in. In the event you ask one of these kids to work in, you may get a snarly answer and a talking to by management. Add to it, the influencers who set up their cameras and do not let anyone else work in and the roiders who insist on dropping weights from a deadlift causing a noise equivalent to a sonic boom....don't say I didn't warn you. The management is well aware of these problems but will do nothing to resolve the situation. See the subreddit r/Athens.

I tried to join this gym for a month to see if it was a good fit. Not only was it overcrowded and unclean, but trying to cancel my membership was a nightmare. They charged me $83 bucks despite their claim I could try it for only $15 for the first month before any additional charges would be made. By the end of my experience I felt only scammed and I will never join another crunch gym. I have had better experiences at other large corporate gyms so I know it comes down to specific crunch business practices and the awful fine print in their contracts. I do not recommend- there are tons of wonderful gyms in Athens. They're worth the money over Crunch.
