Our story began more than half a century ago when a young boy named Sid Clemmer started learning how to make his family's homemade ice cream. Back then, he'd sit on the crank to help (he wasn't quite strong enough to churn it by himself). He didn't know it then, but Sid had found his passion. He'd go on to create new recipes with his wife to be shared at celebrations, attend The Penn State Ice Cream Short Course, earn the title of 2015's Home Made Ice Cream Contest at the Austin Ice Cream Festival, and finally open up shop here in San Angelo. Using his imagination and all the ice cream know-how he gained through the years, Sid and his team use the freshest, finest ingredients to hand make every sweet scoop with love. At the Latest Scoop, we're always crafting new flavors to share with you as our customers, our community, and our friends.
