tripadvisorI have used Epic Charters for years as my water taxi to travel to a wide array of places in Prince William Sound. Captain Brook has always taken the time to help me plan our trip and followed through with the best service ever. He is always ON TIME, Really helps with the loading and unloading process (Kayaks, gear, food, etc.), parks and secures our vehicles, has excellent water taxi prices, and is extremely competent and congenial. Best water taxi in Central Alaska.
MoreWe did a 6 hour cruise on a large boat from Seaward just 2 days ago. Did not want to do the same thing again. So we checked out Epic charters are they were the only ones offering a shorter trip. It turned out to be AWESOME. Much more fun than the other one as this was closer to nature, more intimate, funnily enough the much smaller boat was less bumpy and the glaciers were breathtaking. We got answers to the tons of questions we had from Nick, who was very knowledgeable and happy to help. Loved the stops at the waterfall and pebble beach. Would recommend it highly.Rahul
MoreWe used Epic to transport 9 of us out to the Harrison Lagoon Forest Service Cabin for 2 nights. We also requested Glacier viewing and sightseeing in Barry Arm near the cabin. Two of us went ahead in our private boat and EPIC was to come to the cabin, unload camping supplies and pick up two more passengers for the sight seeing. We watched from shore as the EPIC charters boat went by. Prior to departing Whittier, we stopped by the EPIC Office to confirm plans, the Office was open but no one was there. We called the number and nobody answered. Needless to say we were not pleased with our trip with EPIC.
MoreThe tour of the glaciers, waterfalls, and the short hikes around the nearby islands were a lot of fun and breathtaking. The boat captains were very nice and accommodating in making our trip kid-friendly. As promised, the waters were calm and no one in our group had seasickness, but we did take precautions. Everyone should see the tidal glaciers when in Alaska and if prone to seasickness this is a good option. Prince William Sound is gorgeous even on foggy, rainy days. The 2-mile long tunnel drive to Whittier is a ride to experience be sure to allow plenty of time to line up for the tunnel before your cruise time.
MoreFour of us did a private tour with Nick and Erik. They were laid back and friendly giving us just the type of tour we were looking for. We wandered around a rocky beach, got up close and personal with a waterfall and watched the glacier calving from a close yet safe distance. We were the only boat out at this time. We saw sea lions, an otter, a whale and lots of birds. The beers were a nice touch too!It was so worth not trying to compete with tons of strangers for that one great photo by doing a private cruise instead of the big boats. We highly recommend spending a little more for an unforgettable experience!
